Following an approach and invitation by Business in the Community (BitC) Mackman has joined Suffolk Prohelp. Established in 1989, ProHelp is the largest provider of free professional support to communities in the UK. Sufffolk ProHelp was launched in 2001 and the membership includes representatives from almost every part of the countys’ business community. Previously Mackman has been an active member of Colchester ProHelp which is the town that the company was launched in 2003. As a member of ProHelp and BITC Mackman has supported numerous social enterprises, charities and community groups in East Anglia.

Two new faces at Mackman
Monday, March 15th, 2010We’re pleased to welcome two new staff to Mackman this month. The new posts reflect our continuing growth and success in the fields of research and on-line commerce and communication.
James Royce joins us as Technical Business Manager and Clare Gray will support our research and PR operations. In an icy economic climate, knowing your market has never been more important – especially for small to medium sized businesses. As more and more businesses realise how much effective research can help them to maximize their potential, we’re looking forward to developing our own research capacities further.
Both James and Clare are looking forward to being a key part of our growing business.

Sure Start Contract Awarded
Monday, March 8th, 2010Sure Start have commissioned the research services of Mackman to measure customer satisfaction levels. The project will survey the views of parents and carers who use the services of Sure Start Hyndburn. It is anticipated that data collection will commence in April with analysis and final reporting delivered by the end of May. This is not the first time that Mackman have undertaken qualitative and quantitative research on behalf of Sure Start. The results will compare current findings with previous research.

Age Concern Given Helping Hand
Sunday, February 21st, 2010Work is underway on a research project aimed at enabling Age Concern to become more customer centric. Not only will the exercise help Age Concern understand the needs of older people in the county better, but it is also expected to raise some important questions, which will help the organisation drive forward new ideas in the future. Mackman is providing the work on a pro-bono basis.

Outstanding Customer Service Award
Tuesday, February 16th, 2010Mackman has been recognised for its outstanding customer service.
The company picked up the award for Outstanding Customer Service at the Anglian Business Awards, which recognise the hard work, achievements and outstanding performance of businesses in the region.
Entrants into the category were judged on their ability to demonstrate the highest standard of customer care and service by showing that their organisation has the customer at the heart of their business. Judge Duncan Brodie said “Mackman was a worthy winner of a very competitive category. The judges felt that the company had brought its expertise in the customer care arena to bear on its own business highly effectively, with good customer retention and strong evidence of a high level of customer satisfaction.”
Director Paul Mackman said everyone at the company was thrilled with the success. “We believe that excellent customer service is absolutely vital and a well-trained team is the key to improved understanding of our customers – two of our staff have completed their Customer Service NVQ Level 2 this year. To be recognised in this way is brilliant,” he said.

Social Research – Chelmsford Park Users
Thursday, October 15th, 2009Mackman has been praised for delivering a ” a great piece of research”, by Chelmsford Borough Council. Based on researching the use of parks and gardens in Chelmsford by low income groups, the research project is the first of its kind in the UK. The fact that our social research will assist the Council in encouraging more of Chelmsford’s residents to enjoy the wonderful parks they have their doorsteps made the project extremely worthwhile.

Mackman Group gets IiP award
